My Entrepreneurial Journey
Family Roots in Business
My passion for entrepreneurship is deeply intertwined with my family's legacy. Although I never had the chance to meet my great-grandparents, I've come to appreciate their dedication and perseverance through my father's stories. He shared tales of how his grandfather and father committed themselves to the family farm from a tender age, trekking to the city to sell fresh produce—all cultivated on our ancestral land. This spirit of entrepreneurship has been a cherished inheritance through the generations.
Early Lessons from My Father
My father embodied the entrepreneurial spirit throughout his life, exploring diverse business opportunities from his youth until his passing in 2021. His example motivated me to embark on a similar journey, instilling in me a robust work ethic and a passionate desire to create something of my own.
My Own Business Beginnings
I ventured into the business realm at the tender age of six, selling avocados during summer. This formative experience taught me the foundational elements of entrepreneurship. As a teenager, I worked closely with my father in his car sales business, acquiring invaluable skills and hands-on experience in sales and customer service.
Professional Growth
During my twenties, I further developed my career as a small business consultant, helping others navigate the challenges of entrepreneurship. My commitment to supporting fellow entrepreneurs remains strong, as I continue to share advice and guidance with those looking to launch their own businesses.
Alongside my consulting experience, I earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing Management and a Master of Arts of Communication in Spanish writing from Sacred Heart University in San Juan, Puerto Rico. These academic achievements have enhanced my expertise in both business and communication, enabling me to better serve my clients and community.
Currently, I am a Spanish Instructor at the Entrepreneur Growth Lab, a business training program dedicated to assisting Latino entrepreneurs as they start new companies. The program operates at the Women’s Enterprise Development Center in White Plains, New York, where I help businesspersons develop the skills and confidence necessary for starting and growing their businesses
